Guests were welcomed by Mrs. Beata Radomska - President of the Executive Club and Cigno Consulting. Mrs. Beata in her speech highlighted the growing potential of dynamically developing Polish firms in foreign markets. Mrs. Beata also presented an overview of the panel discussion: the issue of entry for the foreign market and the related barriers and also the main reasons for expansion into foreign markets.

After a short introduction webegan the panel discussion in which took part:
Maciej Radziwi³³ - President of Trakcja Polska
Grzegorz Stabiński - Partner of Bastion Group

The panel was moderated by Prof. Witold Or³owski - Director of Business School Technical University of Warsaw.

During the debate speakers tried to create a prescription for the existence of Polish companies on foreign markets. For the speakers the main factors which have influence on the companies development are: innovation, quality of service and brand.

Henryk Siodmok - President of Atlas, stated that the company achievements on foreign markets depend on the brand. First of all company has to create a brand and get the crowd of customers in the regional market.

Henryk Ciesielski - President of American Appraisal as an important element for increasing expansion of Polish companies abroad considered: skillful promotion of companies, peeling a good strategy and financial support to the government.

Also an important aspect is the cross-border impact. The geographical situation of the company, in this case Tauron Poland Energy, has helped in the development of the neighboring markets of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

However, all speakers unanimously acknowledged that very important for companies development are brand and its visibility among consumers. Discussion raged when there were different views on the importance of the brand. Lidia Deja, Arcadis Communication Manager Arcadis stressed that in the era of the mass market, where most of the goods are from Chinese production, the tender has the price. First-class thing to determine is the cost.

Were also addressed issues related to barriers to entry in foreign markets. As major barriers to the expansion of Polish companies were: lack of capital support, a high risk of failure, competitiveness and globalization. Moreover there are lack of managers in Poland who could find themselves in a foreign market.

After hearing the speeches of respectable speakers, we know that there is hope for a better prognosis for the development of Polish companies abroad. The potential of young people entering to the job market can look to the future positively.
