"Present and future condition of Polish Infrastructure"

How does the present program of road investment look like? Will be the European Union funds chance for their development? Is the crisis a real barrier in projects realization?

For those and other question answered experts during conference "Polish Infrastructure", organised by Cigno Consulting and The Executive Club. Conference took place in Bussinesman Institute in Warsaw on 12 th January 2010.

Honour us with their's presents: Vice - minister of Infrastructure - Radosław Stępień, Undersecretary of the State of Finance Ministry - Dominik Radziwił, President of the Parliamentary Infrastructure Commission - Stanisław Żmijan, President of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego - Tomasz Mironczuk and Vice - President of Parliamentary Infrastructure Commission - Janusz Piechociński. This experts were building the essential part of conference. They shared with their knowledge and experience about current situation and possibilities or difficulties in Polish infrastructure development.

Interesting and worth to mention was Minister Radoslaw Stepien statement. He began conference with words : "The skeleton of the Polish communication system will be prepared till 2012. It will consist of A1, A2 and A4 highways. There will be 1000 km of highways and 1500 km of expressways till 2015". He also admitted that the future of Polish infrastructure should be one of the priorities current and also future governments. He said, that European Union funds, which were one of the most important substantial parts of the conference, could be a great opportunity for further development. Minister suggested establishing National Road Fund, which would be financed by private investor.

All day long conference was divided into four thematic panels: "Financing of the infrastructure investments", "Preparation road investments", "Design and built system" and "Regulations of the environmental protection". Each panel was presided over expert, which had an extensive knowledge.

Conference was finished with aperitif and Ceremonial Gala. Participants had opportunity to see Brazilian samba show performance by dancers from "Danca Brasil" group and listen "Son de Cuba" group.

The Honour Patronage was taken by Ministry of Infrastructure, the Essential Patronage was Polish Road Congress and Gide Loyrette Nouel lawyer's office. On the other hand Eurovia group (Vinci group) was conference's main partner. The media patronages were Gazeta Wyborcza, Polish Roads Magazine and Highway Magazine.

Polish Infrastructure Conference was not only sources of interesting information about sector, but also opportunity to established interesting business contacts. This meeting allowed also to participate in workshop - discussion forum, during which experts was trying generate changes proposal. Changes which are worth to implement in the nearest future to create Polish infrastructure future.
